Qualifications

We are searching for a VMware Engineer to contribute to the sustainment and optimization of a virtualized test infrastructure used by JITC to provide virtualized test infrastructure supporting the DT&E of various DoD IT systems. This individual will join an elite team of network administrators, system administrators, security administrators and lab infrastructure technicians that provide daily support to more than 50 different active program level customers performing a variety of IT Testing. 

 

The individual will have an opportunity to incorporate their experience with ensuring that the existing test infrastructure fully leverages the IT resources provisioned. Additionally, the individual will ensure that the infrastructure provides adequate cyber security controls. Hands on work environment within the industrial size – JITC lab is a welcome venue for technologists to grow their professional talents.

 

 

 

Education and Experience:

• Requires:

  • Doctorate degree and 4 years of experience or

  • Master’s degree and 10 years of experience.

• The degree must be in a relevant technical curriculum and experience must be related to the job duties. Acceptable degree specialties include but are not limited to the following: Information Technology, Mathematics, Computer Networking, Cybersecurity, and various engineering and science disciplines.

• Additional certifications in the area of specialization may be substituted for 1 year of experience.  

Desired:

• Linux System Administration – RHEL (Intermediate)

• VMware Administration (vSphere, vCenter, vCloud Director)

• One or more VMware certifications (VMware Certified Associate (VCA), VMware Certified Professional (VCP), VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP))

• NetApp SAN administration or other similar SAN administration skills

• Experienced sustaining and optimizing virtualized environments to support dynamic test environments

• Must have an active Secret security clearance at time of hire.
